Two Colombian companies will participate in one of the most important food exhibitions in Asia, with buyers visiting mainly from South Korea, China, Taiwan, and Japan.

Before 10 thousand buyers from 30 countries, two Colombian companies will offer specialty coffees at Foodex Japan 2012.

The companies participating in the event with the support of PROCOLOMBIA will be Café Liofilizado Buendía, from Chinchiná (Caldas), and South Commerce Group, from Cali (Valle del Cauca).

The event will take place from March 6th to the 9th at the International Convention Complex, located in the city of Chiba, Japan, and will feature the presence of buyers mainly from South Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan.

"Japan is the largest market in the world for coffee extract, especially for canned beverages or a variety of food preparations," said Juan Francisco Jaramillo, Market Coordinator for Café Liofilizado Buendía.

In addition to extract, the offering will include ready-to-drink, freeze-dried coffee. "Asia is definitely the market with the highest growth potential. We have observed this possibility for our products and, thus, in addition to participating at Foodex, we are going to attend Seoul Food and Sial China," Jaramillo added.

On the other hand, the company South Commerce Group will visit Japan in the search for new markets for its products. Gustavo Valderrama Tascón, Coffee Division Manager, explained he will bring along a sample of organic, supreme and espresso coffees. "As our main strength, South Commerce Group is extremely thorough in the cups we deliver."

Colombia's participation at Foodex Japan 2012 is part of PROCOLOMBIA's activity to harness the business opportunities identified in the Asian continent for the Colombian food industry.
